Frank Aguirre will be talking about the genus of Pterophyllum or Angelfish
The genus of Pterophyllum has three species, which two are well known and standard in the hobby: P.altum and P.scalare.
Despite the claims, there is no scientific evidence of hybrids between the two species due to reproductive barriers. The “Dantum” line, often mistakenly believed to be a hybrid, is actually a selectively bred line of P.scalare with no genetic connection to P.altum.
